With a doctorate in sociology and demography from the University of Paris V (Descartes-Sorbonne Paris Cit\u00e9), she has devoted herself to the study of the social sciences since the start of her university studies, first at undergraduate level and then at master’s level, specialising in the sociology-anthropology and demography of development. Driven by a passion for applied research, she strives to analyse complex and sensitive issues. She has carried out a number of field studies, notably on gender, extreme poverty and education in the slums of Chennai, South India, and on extreme poverty, public education and child labour in the rural areas of Vakinakaratra and the slums of Antanarivo, Madagascar.
More recently, she was commissioned by Expertise France and the European Union to design and implement collaborative action research in education, aimed at monitoring the latest educational reform in Mauritania. She also worked for two years as a contract teacher-researcher in sociology and anthropology at several French universities. Her professional career has therefore spanned university teaching, research and expertise.<\/p>\n

She has been an associate researcher at Ifsra for almost a year now, and sees it as a fantastic opportunity to develop and promote the social sciences, by breaking down the barriers between different ways of producing knowledge. She attaches particular importance to legitimising the different ways of constructing knowledge, whatever the type of player involved, and to maintaining dialogue between academic circles and other professional sectors. In her view, this is essential if we are to meet the economic, social and environmental challenges facing us today.<\/p>\n

C\u00e9cile is a research fellow at IFSRA. She is preparing a doctoral research project on climate migration in West Africa. She holds an LLM in public international law, during which she wrote a dissertation on environmental impact studies in the context of hydrocarbon development. She then became involved in the defense of indigenous rights in Canada. During her last functions as a project manager for INSUCO, she became more interested in themes surrounding the protection of refugees.<\/p>\n

Holder of Masters II in International Affairs, International Law and Political Sciences (ILERI, Grenoble II and Paris X), Marco has a professional background that allowed him to evolve in the private sector, the public sector, NGOs and the social and solidarity economy sector. Marco worked in Latin America for 10 years \u00a0and more recently in Africa with experiences in various NGOs in the Central African Republic and Burkina Faso in particular. Specialist in risk management, territorial development and economic recovery with missions in more than 20 countries, working in a multicultural context is obvious to him.<\/p>\n

\nSa\u00efdou is the administrative and financial manager of Insuco in Burkina Faso. He holds two master\u2019s degrees: one in finance, accounting and audit and another in economics, company management and organization from the University of Ouagadougou. He has worked for mining companies as well as audit firms where he was an auditor. He was team leader for statutory audits for mining and mobile phone companies as well as for development projects in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

\nRomain is the Geomatics Specialist and Graphic Designer of Insuco in Burkina Faso. He holds a Master\u2019s Degree in Geography in Globalisation and Development. He has specialised in mapping software, spatial analysis and in Geographic Information System (GIS). Over the past six years, he has managed field studies and brought a cartographic support to several development projects in Africa. He today brings support to Insuco studies on a variety of subjects such as Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), SIG creation, socio-economic survey or the creation of communication materials.<\/p>\n
