Background<\/h2>\n

This study was performed as part of the project entitled \u201cManaging Bagr\u00e9 for equity and the environment\u201c, coordinated by CIRAD and funded by the CGIAR Water Land and Ecosystems programme. CIRAD asked the IFSRA association in Burkina Faso to participate in the preparation and implementation of the complementary surveys focusing on the households\u2019 socioeconomic vulnerability in and around the concentration area of Bagr\u00e9 Pole.<\/p>\n

Study objectives and expected results<\/h2>\n

The main objective of this study was to perform a socioeconomic survey on 200 households, in the 4 areas of Bagr\u00e9 Pole (developed area, concentration area, out of concentration area, downstream area).<\/p>\n

Specific objectives:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Contribute to the questionnaire design<\/li>\n
  2. Sample the 200 households by cartographic analysis<\/li>\n
  3. Perform the survey with the 200 sampled households in each type of area (developed area, concentration area, out of concentration area, downstream area)<\/li>\n
  4. Build the input mask for the questionnaire with CSPro<\/li>\n
  5. Enter and check the data<\/li>\n
  6. Export the database using the formats chosen by CIRAD<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Research process<\/h2>\n

    In order to meet its objectives, the study was implemented in three phases:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Sampling of the households to survey and finalisation of the tools<\/li>\n
    2. Implementation of the survey<\/li>\n
    3. Export of the database using the formats required by CIRAD<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Fieldwork<\/h2>\n

      The methodology was tested on 200 households in and around the concentration area of Bagr\u00e9 Pole in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

      Partner institutions and study team<\/h2>\n

      This specific study is a multidisciplinary effort between a public institution based in Paris and a research institution based in Burkina Faso. The study team was composed of the following institutions\u2019 teams:<\/p>\n
